What is it?

It’s an iOS mobile app designed to run on iPhones, iPad’s and iPod Touch devices, that provides daily inspirations, daily encouragement.

It is my hope to encourage people in their daily walk as they get a snapshot of what others have shared regarding their experiences (story snippets), ie, their stories, or journeys regarding the day’s passage.

What’s its purpose?

To be an influencer tool by sharing story snippets from Bible passages. You will be influenced and encouraged to influence others in their daily experiences with life. To make the world a better place through your influence.

Just as Jesus intended His people to influence the world by being the salt and light, it is my hope the app’s reading plans and various authors reflections can help inspire others to make the world a better place through God’s Word.

The reading plans walk people through daily selected Bible passage readings (ie. brief journeys of portions of the Bible). The associated reflections are brief stories, experiences or explanations of peoples lives that were impacted by the passages. The reflection content may also include engaging questions or prayer suggestions. It is my hope that the plans and reflections provide an intersection of a persons story and God’s story as they take the time to read, meditate, journal and share. Being a Christ follower or not, the plans and reflections are a meant to share, inspire and encourage.

How will it help me?

The app provides opportunities to…

  • read and reflect
  • journal your thoughts
  • like favorite passages / reflections
  • track your journey
  • remind you daily to read
  • set daily reminders of passages you choose
  • share inspirations or your journal entries
  • launch a favorite Bible app

What’s it cost?

  • No charge, no advertising
  • It’s FREE
  • It costs few moments of your time each day

Where do I begin?

  • Download from Apple’s App Store when the app is released.

What’s it look like?

The days passage is purposely presented by itself against a looping background video (no distracting audio). With minimal buttons displayed, the user might take a moment to meditate on the presented passage with limited visual distractions as possible.

When the user taps the up circled arrow, the app pauses the background video and displays the full inspiration text comprised of the passage, the authors reflection, prayer, questions, etc..

As the user taps on the inspirations text a tool menu appears at the top. This allows the user to share the inspiration, create a journal entry, favorite the entry, set a passage reminder and show their metrics (progress).

Showing the users Journal entries as the user taps on the Journal tab at the bottom. If there aren’t any entries, the app instructs the user. If there were entries the user could share or edit the entires by swiping across the cells.

Showing the users favorites sorted by date. The user can sort either ascending or depending based on the date the user favorited the entry. As the user reads through various reading plans, if they like an entry then can create a personal favorite entry. The user can edit the entires by swiping across the cells.

Showing the installed and available reading plans. This reading plan data is supplied via server requests. The plans are composed and stored on a remote server database for download. The reading plans content are composed from various authors and can be grouped into categories (i.e Hope, Encouragement, Faith, Young Adult, Senior, etc…) as people inquire and select to install on their devices.

Showing the More tab, offering many features to the user including dark mode. Dark mode can be set to automatically match the device settings if iOS 13 or greater is installed. Otherwise the user can toggle the dark mode manually.

Help Providing Content

The plan is for the MyStory app content to continue to grow over time. Adding additional daily reading plans from various authors so that their story can be shared and impact lives for the Kingdom. Consider becoming an author and contributing your story, as you’ve been impacted or influenced through God’s Word.

Let me tell you why you are here. You’re here to be salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavors of this earth. If you lose your saltiness, how will people taste godliness? You’ve lost your usefulness and will end up in the garbage.”

Matthew 5:13 MSG
